I’m tired…

Lately I’ve been feeling really run down both mentally and physically.  This could have a lot to do with the fact that I’ve been sick for over three weeks now.  I’m finally about 99% better, but there’s still just that tiny bit of lingering congestion that won’t go away.

Needless to say, having gone through such a prolonged illness hasn’t left me feeling all that personable and it’s been a struggle to maintain my normally stoic demeanor, especially when there are certain things and situations in my life that just eat at me and I don’t know how to deal with them without causing hurt feelings or other serious problems.  I’ve tended to be what they call a “silent sufferer” in the past, which always leads to an explosion down the road.  Unfortunately, sometimes you just have to suck it up and keep things to yourself for the sake of maintaining the relationships in your life in spite of the fact that they continually eat at you.  What the hell else can you do?

Something else I’m tired of is all this “green” crap.  Global warming is a lie and has been refuted by numerous scientists.  Many have said that a lot of their fellow scientists believe the same but don’t say it publically because they either receive funds related to it or they’re afraid of being ostricized.  Now politicians around the world are using it as an excuse to decimate the world’s economies with their oppressive “green” related taxes.

That’s all bad enough, but what I’m REALLY sick of is all these green crap in the media.  They’re all so damn snotty about it.  “Oh, I’ve gone green now so I’m elevated above you both morally and spiritually because you haven’t.”  Then there are all the commercials geared at simply making you feel like crap because you aren’t following along with the “green” philosophy.

You know what?  Screw all you greenies out there.  There I said it.  Screw you all.  I’m not going to be guilted or shamed into doing anything.  You people are no better than those anti-smoking “truthers” out there with their snotty ass commercials.  Here’s what being “green” means to me.  Don’t be wasteful and don’t purposely do things to damage the environment.  That’s it.  You don’t have to go out and spend tons of money on a hybrid car or buy “green” products that cost way more than regular products.  Just make the easy, little choices that everyone can make, and all of those little choices will add up to make a difference without all the massive taxes and political power grabbing and interference in our lives and without all the snotty “greenies” throwing their “shame on you” looks at us.

Now…what else?

Oh, Matt is FINALLY gone from American Idol.  Christ, it’s about time.  They made a huge mistake wasting the judges save on him, and now finally he’s freakin’ gone.  What was kind of strange for me on last night’s elimination was the fact that Adam Lambert was in the bottom two.  I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see him go next for a couple of reasons.  First, Allison and Kris have shot up in popularity all of a sudden, which is awesome because we’ve been totally pounding out the votes for Allison.  She’s by far been my favorite person in the whole competition, not only because she’s cute and likeable, but because she’s got a hell of a voice and will do good music on her albums instead of that pop crap they keep trying to foist on the winners.  She could very well be the next Kelly Clarkson.  There are certainly lots of similarities there.  I like Kelly Clarkson, but she too lets some of that pop crap creep into her music.  she should stick to the rock thing and tell them where to stick their pop.

Anyway, I got off the track there.  There are a couple of other reasons I wouldn’t be surprised to see Adam go, one of which is the fact that people assume he’s going to win, which means they may also assume that he’ll have plenty of votes, so they don’t bother voting for him.  The same thing happened to Chris Daughtry a few seasons ago.  The other reason people may not be voting for him is because he’s the obvious favorite, and people might just be pulling for the also talented underdogs now.  Adam is going to have an amazing career whether he wins Idol or not.  He doesn’t need Idol now because he’s had all the exposure he’ll ever need.  The others however do need it, and it would be much more meaningful if one of them won it instead…as long as it’s Allison. ;)

Anyway, the judges have been really annoying me as of late.  I don’t know what it is, but this year they seem particularly unhelpful and annoying.  All they do is push their favorites and talk smack to those who aren’t.  They’re not even particularly creative about how they do it either.  I don’t know if it’s burnout or what, but they’re really just not up to par this year.

On to the next thing…

Man, I got a busy day ahead of me and I haven’t even slept all that much.  I have to put together the new issue of Rogue Cinema today.  Unfortunately, I’m running on very little sleep and I still have three reviews to write before I get started on it.  Fortunately I’ve seen all the movies, so they’re out of the way at least.  God today’s gonna suck.  I think I might go try to get some more sleep before I get started, otherwise my reviews are gonna suck and I’ll be totally worthless for trying to get anything done today.

God…I’m just so tired.  Tired mentally, tired physically, tired of all the crap we have to deal with in life, tired of politicians, tired of stupid people, tired of snotty people, tired of having to internalize my problems and just generally tired of life.  I wish things were different.  I wish a lot of things, but it sure as hell doesn’t change anything. :(
