There’s a wine&cheese reception at 8pm, and He’ll be
showing Little Shop of Horrors at 9pm, and he’ll stick
around afterwards to take questions and talk about
movies. Should be a good event if enough people show
up, but theres been no advertising for this, so I was
hoping maybe you could put a notice up in your blog or
something, or at least tell anyone you know in the

SEATTLE – An Oregon woman whose doctor convinced her that he could cure her lower back pain by having sex with her is suing him and his medical clinic for $4 million, according to legal documents obtained Monday. The doctor, Randall Smith, who was 50 at the time, was stripped of his license and sent to jail for 60 days last year for charging the state’s Oregon Health Plan $5,000 for his 45-minute “treatments” involving the woman. “Dr. Smith’s medical treatment included intercourse in which he told plaintiff was needed to help alleviate plaintiff’s lower back and lower extremity pain,” the former patient said in the lawsuit. The lawsuit, which charges battery, negligence and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, was filed Friday in Multnomah County court. “We never comment on lawsuits,” said a spokesman for the Adventist Medical Group clinic in Gresham, Ore., where Smith worked. Smith could not be located for comment. Though he pleaded guilty to submitting false health care claims, a felony, Smith maintained the sex with the 47-year-old woman was consensual.

Basically, if she was stupid enough to believe this idiotic story, and then got 45 minutes of sex out of it, then I don’t see what she’s complaining about. #1 it was her fault for being stupid, and #2 that was probably the longest sex she’s ever had, so really I don’t see where the complaint is here. It’s certainly nothing worth 4 million bucks. That would make her one of the highest priced whores ever. Then again, her lawyer would get half of it probably at least. So after he screws her, she’ll probably sue him too.

HYDERABAD, India (Reuters) – A professor of English in southern India loved his mother so much that he lived with her corpse for 20 years. When he died, the pair were laid to rest in the same grave. Syed Abdul Gafoor’s mother died in 1985, but he refused to bury her, authorities said. Instead, he preserved her body with chemicals and kept it at home in a glass case, causing his wife to leave him and sparking a social boycott in Siddavatta village in Andhra Pradesh state. “He kept the body intact and lived in isolation till he died Saturday ” district administrator Ashok Kumar told Reuters. Gafoor, 60, was buried along with his mother in a single grave near the village mosque according to his last wish, Kumar said.

I’d like to say I’m surprised, but I’m really not.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man accused of taking off his pants at a fast-food restaurant then sitting down and eating other people’s food. Lower Paxton Township Police arrested David Waller on charges of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. They said he went to a fast-food restaurant in the 4600 block of Route 22 Saturday around noon. Police said he went to the restroom and exited moments later with his shorts around his knees. He then sat down at a booth where two women and a 6-year-old boy were sitting and started to eat their food, police said. The women questioned him and he fled, according to investigators. The women provided a description and police found Waller in his car, investigators said. Waller is being held on $25,000 bail.

Now here’s a lesson for you kiddies. Don’t use drugs. And if you do use drugs, be sure to get some take out and bring it home with you before you do.

This is a firefighter’s diary of FEMA incompetence in their response to the hurricane disaster. I would be shocked at the level of waste and incompetence, but after spending three and a half years as a government contractor, I saw more waste an incompetence than anyone would even come close to imagining. The biggest problem with our government is that you have an insane number of levels of management managing each other down the tree until you get down to the peons that are supposed to be doing the work. 95% of the managers are incompetent and completely unnecessary, and probably about 60% or more of the peons are incompetent and just sucking down a paycheck. The worst part is, none of them are ever fired for being incompetent, yet I, as one of the very few competent people there, was fired. I guess I just didn’t fit in. Then again, I was never shy about bitching about all the incompetence and waste I saw on a daily basis anyway. Hell, my boss’ boss was drunk at work on an almost daily basis and nothing but a mid level butt kisser who didn’t care how much money was wasted as long as it was politically expedient for her to give certain people what they wanted, no matter if they needed it or not. Basically, if any of you knew the waste and incompetence that exists in our government, you’d all stop paying your taxes and there’d probably be a revolution. Yes, it’s honestly that bad. Now that’s not to paint all government employees with a wide brush, because there are some competent ones. Unfortunately, they’re either held back by an incompetent system, or punished for trying to make things better because someone above them can’t handle the fact that the changes would make them look stupid for not having thought of it themselves. I can remember a couple of people who just got stuck alone in offices pushing papers around or browsing the web all day because they’re stripped of their real job as punishment for trying to be competent in an incompetent system. They can’t be fired, so they’re stuck doing nothing except basically sitting there ostricized and collecting a paycheck. To actually fire someone in the government for incompetence is a several year ordeal with tons of paperwork and documentation involved, and in the end they probably still won’t be fired. That’s just wrong and it’s why our government has become such a bloated, tax sucking hog.

A substitute teacher in Lake County, Fla., was terminated and banned from teaching in the county after he ripped out a student’s insulin pump during class apparently thinking it was a ringing cell phone, according to a Local 6 News report. Officials said a ninth-grade student at East Ridge High School, who is a Type I diabetic, was in class Monday when his insulin pump began to beep, indicating he was low on insulin. Witnesses said the class teacher, Richard Maline, 51, asked the student what the beeping was. School officials said Maline then grabbed the device, thinking it was a cell phone beeping and detached the tube that connects the insulin pump to the student’s leg. The student went to the school’s clinic and had the tube reinserted. Lake County school officials then acted quickly and terminated Maline, Local 6 reporter Louis Bolden said. “This is a very serious incident,” Lake County schools spokesman Russell Anderson said. “Our substitute teachers, we provide them training on the behavior we expect of them in the classrooms. When they do something as serious as this, we don’t hesitate to remove them from being a substitute teacher.” Maline told Local 6 News off camera that his is an unfortunate situation. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and trying to determine if there was any criminal intent. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

I don’t know if there was criminal intent or not, but the guy was definitely being an ass when he did this, which in my opinion was not only reason enough to fire the jerk, but to also put the beatdown on him. Fortunately, he was not only fired, but banned from teaching in the county. From the photo they had there, the guy looks like he should be working as a janitor in a biker bar anyway.
